Welcome to the Realms of the Dragon!

Realms of the Dragon is a text-based multiuser dungeon. There are no graphics, just text. Very colourful text. This game is generally played by people who enjoy reading, or have a vivid imagination and a fair amount of computer skills. Give it a try, you might find yourself wrapped up in a world of endless adventure.

Here's a list of things you need to know right away:

  • Do not get frustrated, it takes a couple days to get used to the concept of playing a text game. Be patient, and you'll understand why we have such a loyal group of players.
  • Don't be afraid to ask for help!
  • If you're new to the game, when you create your character pick the Spirit race and do all of the training there first. Do not skip any steps. It should take about a half hour to get through it all, but you'll be much better off for it.
  • Once you are done training in spirits, you'll have to refresh to a real race. It is highly reccomended that you avoid picking an evil race for your first character.
  • Use the command "term ansi" to enable colours. Then to check if it is working, use the command "help gods". You should see a colorful ANSI chart displaying the deities of the Realms.
  • You can ask questions on race and support channels. Start typing "race Hi! Anyone around?" for example. "Channels" will let you know what channels you have aviable to you.
  • Read the Adventurer's Handbook in your inventory "open book"
  • Type "monitor on" to get basic combat info while you fight.
  • HUD is a more advanced option than monitor. To see a standard list of commands used to setup the HUD, click here.
  • You can switch between brief and verbose mode by typing "brief" or "verbose".
  • Consider using a terminal to connect to the game, as it provides a much greater experience than just telnet or java. For a list of terminals, click here to go to that page.
  • Back to the Main page.
